Board of Directors

The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League is operated as a non-profit charity and decisions are made by an annually elected board of directors.

MaryFran found MAGDRL in 2002 when she adopted her first rescue Dane and has been an active member ever since. She has fostered approximately 50 Danes during her time here. MaryFran became the Chapter Coordinator for NJ in October of 2003, served as MAGDRL BOD Secretary since 2006 and as the Bite Coordinator since 2007. She was appointed President in March 2010.

Cathy has been a member of MAGDRL since 2003. She started out attending Meet & Greets, doing home and dog evaluations, helping out at events and soon became the NJ Matchmaker, the Northern NJ Meet & Greet Coordinator, and then the NJ Events Coordinator. Cathy joined the Board in 2006 as the Policies & Procedures Director and in 2007 she became the Grants & Fundraising Director. She have been a member of the GDCA since 2010, and Vice President for the Northern NJ Great Dane Club since 2012.

Gay Ann's first experience with MAGDRL was in November 2003 after her beloved Rottie passed. She adopted her first MAGDRL Dane in 2004–Chiara a spoiled little Blue girl. Gay Ann became a volunteer and helped the NY coordinator with phone interviews, vet checks, home evaluations, transportations , meet & greets and evaluations of Danes being surrendered. She has now been a Chapter Coordinator for NY since 2008.

Pat has been a volunteer with MAGDRL since 2006. During that time she has held many positions, including phone screener, completing home visits, transporting, fostered many Danes, and held the position of Intake Coordinator for NJ. Most recently she has held the position of Foster Coordinator and Assistant Chapter Coordinator for the NJ chapter.

Fundraising
Domenick has been a MAGDRL volunteer since 2011. He started out by spending time with Danes who were staying at Best Friends Pet Hotel while waiting for a foster home to become available. In the summer of 2013, he met Shilo, and decided to adopt him. Since then he has fostered, attended meet & greets, and many other activities for MAGDRL.

John has been a MAGDRL volunteer for over twenty years. He began with transports, then came meet and greets, home visits, dog evaluations and socialization, to vet checks and phone interviews. He has served in the Match Maker role in PA as well as the Assistant Coordinator role.

Legislation
Joy has been a volunteer with MAGDRL since 2009. Her family adopted their first Great Dane, Ginger and soon after her family became a foster home. Joy has fostered over twenty dogs and has adopted five Great Danes. Over time she has done home visits, dog intake evaluations, hosted meet and greets and participated in transports.

Jean has been an active volunteer with MAGDRL since early 2016. After losing 2 beloved Great Danes, Jean connected with MAGDRL and soon adopted Molly. Since adopting Molly she has started volunteering and have participated in Meet & Greets and other events, assisted with transports, home visits and manage the NJ and PA/DE websites, Adopt a Pet website and the Pet Finder website.

Roxanne first became a member back in 2002. She soon became a member and evaluator for the New Jersey Chapter. She eventually became a Board member and served as the Fundraising & Grant Director. In 2021 she became the treasurer.
