Dolly (updated)

Dolly Came to MAGDRL in October 2024 (5 )

Updated Bio (01-2025)

Dolly is a 4-month-old (December 2024) little girl who has been with us since October,  she has had several vet visits and has continued healing.  During her last vet visit the doctor was very pleased with her healing and currently does not feel surgery is currently necessary depending how she matures.  If you didn’t know her back story you would know she’s had issues with her knee in the past.  She also had a missing toenail and sore on one of her toe pads, both are healing beautifully.

Dolly would flourish in a home who will continue to socialize her to new things and people, she is very unsure of children’s high energy.  She is reserved when meeting new people but with encouragement and positive reinforcement from strangers she will be able to overcome this.  She has a natural curiosity which will help her in new situations. Dolly has lived in multi dog households and respects the other dogs.  She has lived with dog savvy cats who tolerate her puppy antics and feel comfortable enough to curl up and sleep with her.

Her ideal home would be someone who is patient with her and will continue to expose her to new situations and people. Dolly can live in a home with children but the children in the home need to understand she is shy and allow her to warm up to them.  She enjoys traveling, and rides well in a car.  She would flourish with a confident canine companion but would be fine as in a single dog home.

Initial Bio (12-2024)

Meet little miss Dolly- true to a quote from her namesake “you’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try” and this is one brave little lady.

Dolly hasn’t had the easiest start to her early life- she was taken in by MAGDRL in October 2024 from a cruelty case.  There were several dogs seized that day and we would love to give this little lady the life her parents never got to have.  This little harlequin lady is about 3 months old and full of cuteness and sass.

After a vet evaluation we have found Dolly has some issues with her back right knee, and may need orthopedic work once she’s full grown. The last vet visit was very optimistic.  Everything is looking good and it hasn’t slowed this little pup down at all. She is still as active as can be and enjoys playing with her foster sister Nova. She keeps up very well! She has the appetite of a dog three times her size and a personality to match.

Just look at her! It’s hard not to melt into her icy eyes! Dolly enjoys snuggles and being a little couch potato, she loves chewing on ropes and toys. She is up to date on all shots and vaccines, or her age. Dolly is doing great with crate training, potty training and leash training. She knows some basic commands like sit, down and crate. She would do best in a home with other dog friends or someone who can give her the attention she needs. Dolly would make an excellent addition to any home!
