UPDATE: December 2024

Boy I sure am so glad it’s not hot anymore but I don’t know about this white stuff.. it’s awfully cold and wet but doesn’t stop me from playing with my brother outside!  It’s also school time again – mom says this class is called agility.  I don’t know what that is but I do know that I get yummy hot dogs for doing real easy stuff like walking through this tunnel and up and over this big tall walkway.  I will do anything for hot dogs!  I also met some new friends in another school where we sit and lay down and stay put and then get yummy treats.  School sure is fun!  I still love to wrestle my brother and bark at the delivery men and go on rides with my head out the window.  It’s colder now but I still like to check out the people walking on the sidewalk and friends who say hello at the stoplights.  Life sure is good!  Maybe you’d like to take me for rides and let me sit on the couch with you?

UPDATE: September 2024

Woweee I sure love this fall weather!  It’s so great for zoomies and wrestling with my new foster brother and long walks through town or on the trails.  Sure beats the heat!  I also love playing with my new toys – STUFFIES!  My mom said I’m allowed to play with them now because I’m not trying to eat them anymore.  And what fun I can have with these new toys – I just love to rip their limbs off and take out their stuffing and then tug on one end while my bro tugs on the other.  It’s amazing how fun these new toys are!   I also had a real fun time taking agility classes – I got to go on this crazy board they call a “teeter” and then up and down this A frame that was taller than me!  It was so much fun playing on this new playground.  Mom said she can teach me anything because I love the treats so much.  Whatever gets the treats into my mouth, I’m ready to do!  I’m also getting better at taking treats “gentle” (except when it’s chicken… I just can’t help it because it’s so good!)

I sure do hope there’s a forever family out there for me that likes to take rides and do walks and maybe has a brother or sister for me to wrestle with because that’s my favorite.  Or maybe you’d like to wrestle and tug with me?

Who says Danes aren’t energetic??  I just want to play play PLAY!  I love to wrestle with my foster brother, go for walks and zoomie inside and out!  Despite a rough start with my previous owners where I didn’t get any food or a place to stretch my legs, I am with these nice MAGDRL people now where I get all the food I want and room to play and run and wrestle.
In fact, I put on 50 lbs since I met my foster mom and now I weigh 140 lbs from weighting 87 lbs!  She says I’m a big handsome boy and I might be 2-3 years old but we aren’t really certain.  I sure do play like a young fella though!  I hope my new family will give me a lot of opportunities to hang my head out the car window on rides, go for lots of walks and play outside, and of course – feed me all my favorite treats and food because I sure do LOVE to eat!

My foster mom says that because I love food so much, it makes me a real fast learner.  I don’t care about learning things, but when she holds a treat in her hand, boy I’ll do anything for it!  Because I love food so much, they don’t let me in the kitchen where I can easily snatch some tasty snacks for myself.  And they give me my own special place where I can eat in peace away from the other dogs in my house.  I REALLY want all my food so I don’t like when people or dogs touch me or bother me while I eat.

I recently graduated from basic obedience class and I learned how to sit and lay down and all sorts of things.  I didn’t really care too much about the other dogs that were in school with me.  Mostly, I only care about dogs if they want to wrestle – because it’s one of my favorite things to do!  If we meet other dogs out walking, I don’t really pay them attention because my foster mom has TREATS and that’s more interesting to me than other dogs.  Big dogs, small dogs, lady dogs, boy dogs – they are all the same to me and I don’t mind them one bit.  At home, I leave my foster sister alone because she is old and doesn’t want to play (and mom says she’s the boss).  But my “little” 90 lb foster brother likes to play with me so we get to wrestle – just check out our video!

Mom says I can’t have fluffy toys because I try to eat them.  She’s worried about me eating things I shouldn’t, so when she isn’t home I go in my crate.  But I don’t mind being in my crate because it’s HUGE with a nice soft bed and plenty of room for me to stand up and stretch and be comfy.  Plus I always get a delicious peanut butter covered treat when I go there, and that keeps me busy until I fall asleep.  When she is home, I get to lay on the couch or her bed, and she says I’m a good bed sharer because I stay on my side when I get to sleep there at night.  I can even hold it all night – up to 9 hours – and potty outside when it’s morning time.

When people come over, I like to bark at them until we can meet and then I stop barking and lean on them instead.  When we are out in public, I don’t bark at all and am a little nervous if there are lots of people around.  I prefer if there’s just a few people that I can lean on and get pets from.  I don’t jump on people but I really like to lean on people a lot.  Sometimes I step on their feet too.  I’m such a heavy leaner that I might knock someone over if they aren’t strong enough to hold me up.  I sure hope my new family loves to play with me or has a play buddy that I can wrestle with, and has a lot of food for me to eat.  Plus treats, I really like treats!  I probably wouldn’t be good with small people in the house because I can get SO excited I forget how big I am and spin in circles and dart around and might hurt a small person / child by accident because I’m just so excited!!  (Especially if they have a tasty treat in their hand.)  Mom says I can be a bit of a shark (whatever that is), I just want that treat so bad I can’t help myself.  We are working on being “gentle” but if it’s something REALLY yummy, watch out for your fingers.  But I’m really a good boy who just has a big, fun loving heart.  I can’t wait to show my new family how good I can be!
