Thank you for your interest in Volunteering with the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. Please complete the form below to submit your application. This form will be autosaved in intervals so if you cannot complete the form in its entirety you can save it and complete it later. Once your form is received, the Chapter Coordinator will review the information and reach out to you if there are any questions. If your application is approved you will receive an email with a link to complete the signing process for the application and to sign the Volunteer Liability Release and Waiver Form via DocuSign.

If Volunteering for Home Visits

Are you comfortable visiting people you have never met for the purpose of recommendation for approving them to adopt?
Do you have a dog you can bring along with you?
Are you able to politely but firmly point out things to a homeowner that may injure a Dane in the house / yard?
Can you suggest things that will make an adoption go smoother?

If Interested in Fostering

Are your pets alone during the day?
Are any family members home during the day?

If renting, does your lease allow pets? (Please supply a copy of the lease agreement pertaining to pets)
Is your yard fenced? (Electric fence is not acceptable unless used as a secondary fencing option)
Have you ever taken in a dog that you did NOT raise from a puppy?
Have you ever cared for a friend's dog in your own home?
Are you familiar with the transitional period that dogs go through when they are removed from their home / a shelter and begin to settle into a new home?
Do you have an area where you can keep a foster dog separated from your pets / family until he / she has adjusted to your home?
Are you familiar with bloat and recommendations for prevention?
May we visit your home and check your reference to verify the information you have provided?

The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. (MAGDRL) was organized in 1979 to serve the seven states of the Mid-Atlantic region. The organization is a DC corporation and has a charitable tax-exemption under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
